Car sticker care: the habits that matter
Good car sticker care comes down to hand washing, parking in shade when you can, and keeping high-pressure water away from sticker edges. Care helps a sticker reach its rated life, up to 5 years on original 3M, but it cannot save a sticker printed for indoor use.
What care can and cannot do
Most fleet stickers in Riyadh burn and peel within 8–12 months because the print was never made for the outdoors. No washing routine fixes that. Care matters once the material and print are right: it protects edges and slows natural colour loss.
Daily and weekly habits
- Hand wash. Use a soft cloth or sponge and mild soap.
- Keep pressure washers back. Never aim the jet directly at the sticker’s edges.
- Park in shade when possible. Roofs and bonnets face the hardest heat.
- Rinse dust regularly. Fine dust rubbed in during dry wiping can scratch the surface.
- Report lifting early. A lifting corner is easier to deal with in its first week.
